Typical Layout
Typical layout of The Heron and The Moorhen. The Swan and The Kingfisher have two double bedrooms on the kitchen/dining room level.
Let me get straight to the point - this place is dreadful! I'm baffled by the previous good reviews, how? why? Okay here's the detail... Before we even got there we had problems. No payment prompts, no arrival information and then a postcode that took us to the wrong side of Willow Way. A cold greeting and lot's of information we didn't need, but none that we did. Then the apartment! A series of tiny rooms over four levels with loads of stairs between each, like some kind of crazy hamster cage. Next to a river, but the front view was a hotel car park and the rear view was a patch of dead grass with dirty furniture on it. The car could only be fitted under the canopy after a seven point turn and even then meticulous positioning was required if you wanted to get the doors open. The place was superficially clean, but we later found masses of hair on the carpets. The bedrooms were really dated and the children's rooms were only just big enough for a single bed. There was absolutely nothing provided! No towels (we knew this), but nothing to wash up with, nothing to clean with, no hairdryer, no fans and it was blisteringly hot. The wardrobes were stuffed full of extra duvets we didn't need and thus nowhere to actually hang anything. The freezer still had leftover food in it and the kitchen table filled the kitchen, but was still only just big enough for the four of us. There was no privacy, no net curtains even though several of the other apartments were looking into us over the dead grass, not to mention all the children playing right outside our patio doors. The wifi was appalling and constantly dropped out. We took an Xbox, but it was a complete waste of time trying to stay online for more than a few minutes. We probably won't go back.…
