We've been operating since 1978 so we have seen Christchurch change over time and we genuinely love this town we call home. When you Google ‘Is Christchurch worth visiting?’ The resounding answer is YES.
Christchurch in Dorset offers a choice of award-winning beaches, coastal nature reserves and heritage attractions. But in the summer months it becomes THE place to be and even more so this year with a new music festival.
Christchurch and the surrounding area has a jam packed diary of events this summer and the best bit, most are all walking distance from Riverside Park.
So what’s coming up and not be missed?
The Mudeford Lifeboat Funday - Sunday 16th July - Mudeford Quay
The funday which raises funds for the RNLI local Mudeford lifeboat station has been running for over 25 years. With a fun fair, stalls, raft race and duck race it’s a fabulous FREE event (donations to the RNLI encouraged)
Christchurch Music Festival - 21st - 23rd July - Christchurch Quay
The lineup includes local live music acts and DJs across three days. From sweet soul to rock and roll there is something for everyone. With a big emphasis on fun for all the family with a kids zone and supporting local businesses from food stalls to craft stands it’s set to be a great weekend. Just a short walk from Riverside Park and tickets are on sale from £12.65.
Stompin On The Quomps - 5th August - Christchurch Quay
The annual jazz event with non stop music from noon until night is a hugely popular free event in Christchurch. With amazing local food stalls and some of the best jazz talent in the UK you’re invited to bring friends, family and a picnic and enjoy the day. Only a few minutes walk from Riverside Park it’s a must visit.
Christchurch Carnival Weekend - 12th - 13th August - Christchurch Quay
The Christchurch carnival committee has been around for more than 100 years. Each year the carnival is guaranteed to be a fun weekend for all the family. With a series of displays and fun activities on the quay, as well as music, events, carnival parade, fireworks and a funfair. This FREE event really shows off our town and fantastic local people.
All of these events are local to Riverside Park and we recommend visiting them when you’re staying with us.
