Lift Out

We are now just into November and the weather really has changed. On a couple of occasions this past week we have even seen some frost, Bbbbbrrrrrrrr. The clocks have gone back and the evenings are now dark at 5pm. I hope it’s not going to a harsh winter.

Today we lifted out of the water all of the boats from the moorings, another sign that winter has arrived. They will be stored on the hard standing/gravel area for the winter period. This is something that we have been doing every year since we started Riverside some 40 years ago. It gives the boat owners a chance to carry out their annual maintenance and is also good for the boats to dry out. They will be lifted back in to the water just before Easter next year.

The second and third photos are of all the boats lifted out of the water. A very busy day.

Just an update on the single bedrooms and twin bedrooms, all the orders have now been placed and work is due to start mid-January. This will be for new bedroom furniture, new single beds and headboards, new bed linen, shutters on the windows and to finish of the upgrade a repaint of each room. We will therefore be closing from January and reopening for the half term period in February 2019.

The exciting Bournemouth Christmas Festivities this year will start on 16th November, there will be an outdoor skating rink in the Bournemouth Lower Garden, an Alpine Bar, Santa’s Grotto, a Christmas Alpine Market and the Christmas Tree Wonderland. A unique festive trail of glittering and sparkling Christmas trees from around the world. Lots of festive things to do!!!
