We have recently been having some  lovely spring like weather but today it’s pouring down with rain and work in the garden is on hold hopefully just for today. I have been promised that the job will be finished by the weekend, and I can’t wait to see the end result.

All the boats are being lifted back into the water on Friday 1st April, hoping that the wind doesn’t pick up, it then becomes impossible for us to lift and a later date organised. It will be good to see all the boats back in the water and families enjoying time on the river again.

Just to let you know I currently have availability in the Heron for the Easter period, Friday 15th April to Friday 22nd April, the cost for this week is £760. If you would like any further details please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

Moors Valley is a great place to visit whilst staying here at Riverside. Take the road towards Ringwood and drive through little country villages to reach Moors Valley Country Park. You will find the Play Trail and Tree Top Trail, the children will love it. The Play Trail with its unique pieces of wooden play equipment is situated on a three-quarters of a mile walk. Halfway along the Play Trail there is the option to divert onto the Tree Top Trail; a wooden walkway that gives you a birds-eye view of the Forest.

The routes range in distance from 3/4 mile to 5 miles and are easy to follow. The walking routes are waymarked on the ground with posts with the appropriate coloured band, however a detailed ‘Explore’ map which shows all waymarked walking and cycling trail is available to buy for £1 from the Visitor Centre.

You can hire bikes at Moors Valley or take your own, there are some great forest routes to follow for varying abilities.

The ‘Through the Forest’ single track route is recommended for cyclists with some basic off-road riding skills and is not suitable for trailers or tag-a-longs. The trail offers an exciting cycling challenge and includes technical bends and tight turns as it winds its way through the pine forest and open heathland. The trail is edged by rocks and is waymarked with rectangular posts with blue arrows.

The ‘Bike Park’ is an exciting place for experienced cyclists to develop their skills. Designed in conjunction with local riders and Forestry England, these natural elements require balance and riding skills to traverse and jump. The Pump Track is a sculptured track that includes berms and dips and encourages the rider to “pump” their way around the track with limited pedalling.

There is also a golf course, Go Ape Tree Top Adventure and a one-hour Segway Adventure. It really is a great place to visit  http://moors-valley.co.uk
